There is nothing quite like spending the Easter weekend away in Noosa with close friends. Noosa was always a favourite family holiday destination during high school (by 'high school' I mean one of those inner-city elite private high schools that you love to hate) and back then, Massimo's Gelateria was the coolest place to be seen with your friends. Now that we are all grown up and earning the big bucks on Eagle Street, we have upgraded from hanging out at the gelato store to fine dining by the beach. Bistro C Restaurant & Bar was the lucky venue to host our rowdy table of ten on the night of Easter Saturday. ...
Beachfront views overlooking Noosa's Laguna Bay? Tick. Numerous cocktails and bottles of wine on the table? Tick. Fabulous dinner guests? Tick. In fact, my fabulous Camilla kaftan made its Noosa debut that night. Every table in the restaurant was filled and the ambience was perfect for a sumptuous moonlit dinner from an award-winning menu. Our drinks and meals were served so promptly that I can't even fault the service.
For the main course, our table's favourites were the crisp skinned atlantic salmon and the slow roasted lamb rump. I can't help but order something different from the crowd so I opted for the Dakota Vale duck breast from the specials, which was simply divine. But all in all, there was a serious case of food envy around the dinner table. For dessert, no one could go past the chocolate hazelnut pudding. Oh, and another bottle of wine of course.

As for the next morning, Jesus may have risen from the dead on Easter Sunday but I definitely struggled to awaken from my inebriated state that day. My poor head was aching after too many bottles of wine at dinner and other undisclosed debauchery that followed. But hey, that's what holidays are for.
