The Limes Hotel is somewhat isolated from Fortitude Valley's main strip of nightlife, but this works in its favour by filtering out those trashy and grungy Valley rats who usually dwell in the confines of Brunswick Street Mall.  Enter down Constance Street, through the hotel lobby and up the elevator to discover the open air roof top champagne and cocktail bar.  The purple haze is a distinctive feature of this cosmopolitan bar and kudos to those who recognise the irony of Jimi Hendrix's lyrics posted behind the main bar.

On Thursday night, the Rooftop Bar was packed with an exclusive crowd of beautiful faces, urban trendsetters and many other rebellious yuppies.  I am not really sure what the beautiful faces and urban trendsetters do for a living, but I am guessing that the other yuppies were also nursing hangovers at work the next day.  It was all worth it though.  The party kicked on all night and everyone appreciated the new winter cocktail menu and delectable canapés that were generously served throughout the evening.
